Sculpture

Arkansas Traveler Sculpture Series

by Carolyn “Carrie” Crocker

The sculpture series, crafted in mixed media, explores the intersection of natural elements and human influence. Each piece combines materials such as wood, metal, glass, and clay, showcasing a harmonious blend of textures and colors. The sculptures reflect themes of growth, decay, and transformation, capturing the essence of the organic world while incorporating industrial components.

Incorporating fabricated and found objects, the series invites viewers to contemplate the discarded and repurposed, imbuing each work with a sense of history and narrative. Through the layering of materials and shapes, the sculptures evoke a dialogue between the past and present, inviting introspection and connection.

The intricate details, often complemented by a thoughtful use of light, create dynamic visual experiences that change with perspective. Ultimately, the mixed media sculptures present a commentary on the relationship between nature and civilization, encouraging a deeper appreciation for both.
